GQ magazine has named our latest collaboration with Michelin-starred Hakkasan as one of their ten coolest things to do in London this week. Coming in at number five, our limited edition cocktail has been selected as the perfect way to celebrate International Women’s Day. As GQ says, “if you’re going to raise a toast to incredible women, there’s no better tipple for the occasion.”

International Women’s Day at Hakkasan

This collaboration has seen our soon-to-be-released single malt transformed into a showstopping cocktail by four women at the forefront of Hakkasan’s bar, wine and pastry teams. Each has brought their own contribution, reflecting “the finesse of female sommelier, pastry chef, bartender and manager in a delectably decadent serve” – the creatively conceived Golden Nectar. From the rich caramel base of The Donn to the light citrus notes of mimosa cordial and the intricate toasty yuzu flavours of the Hundred Hills Blanc de Blancs 2018 this cocktail is a standout example of what happens when creative minds and the finest ingredients meet.

As GQ notes, Hakkasan is worth a visit for its Michelin-starred Cantonese cuisine alone, but this month gives us more of an excuse. While 8th March is the perfect time to celebrate the women in your life, the Golden Nectar cocktail and The Donn are available throughout March until 4th April. As the only place to taste The Donn right now, it could be a busy month!

The media is already picking up on the launch of The Craft Irish Whiskey Co.’s first concept store in the luxurious Wonder Room in Selfridges, London. From the start of December 2022 until the end of January 2023, shoppers are able to view and buy the full range of our award-winning whiskeys, including The Emerald Isle and the last remaining collections of The Devil’s Keep.

The Luxury Report was one of the first to pick up on the exciting news, across social media and online. As it points out, this is the first time our premium Irish single malts have been available for anyone to view and buy, and were previously reserved for private clients. It’s also the very first time the accessories have been available to buy anywhere, offering the ‘perfect whiskey experience’ just in time for Christmas.

A number of limited edition gift boxes include everything the whiskey fan needs to elevate their enjoyment and experience of the whiskey. This includes the scientifically designed glasses that remove the ethanol vapour, precision pipettes that deliver the perfect amount of water to open up every note, and obsidian whiskey stones that cool without dilution.

Visitors to Selfridges will also be amongst the first in the world to discover our latest rare release, The Donn, which is due to be released in January 2023. The Ultimate Tasting Experience gift box combines a Finn Glass, Cigar Cutter, Whiskey Stones, a Pipette and a sample of The Donn. The Donn will bring the skilful crafting and exceptional use of barrels that create our unique flavour profiles to a wider audience and has already found favour with chefs and royalty alike.

The Craft Irish Whiskey Store will be open in Selfridges’ Wonder Room, London until the end of January.

We’re proud to be able to announce that, for the first time ever, visitors to Selfridges, London, will be able to see the world’s first and only Fabergé Celtic Egg, along with the rarest Irish single malt in existence, as part of the launch of The Craft Irish Whiskey Co.’s first concept store in the prestigious Wonder Room.

Our full range of ultra-rare Irish single malts will be available to view and buy as part of our exclusive retail partnership with Selfridges London and online. This includes the last remaining bottles of the inaugural release, The Devil’s Keep, and the record-breaking The Emerald Isle, which commanded unprecedented interest at auction to become the world’s most expensive whiskey when it sold for $2,000,000 in 2021, overtaking The Macallan 1926. In addition, customers will have the rare opportunity to meet the team, including Founder, Jay Bradley and Managing Director, Ian Duignan for an introduction to the world of Irish whiskey and the heritage and craftsmanship behind the brand.

The Emerald Isle

The Emerald Isle is rarely on display, but if you head to Selfridges in December, you’ll have the opportunity to see our second record-breaking release; a seven-piece custom-made whiskey set featuring the rarest Irish single malt in the world, finished in a single, half-filled 40L Pedro Ximénez sherry cask. Items of equal rarity complete the collection, with the world’s first Fabergé Celtic Egg, two ultra-rare Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reserva 2009 cigars and a unique 1/1 Fabergé watch in 18k rose gold with white mother of pearl face, skilfully etched and hand-painted with 24k rose gold. The Emerald Isle is housed in an exquisitely handcrafted display case, with each bespoke set dedicated to one of the Seven Wonders of Ireland. Purchasers of The Emerald Isle will receive the whiskey through our ‘white glove’ delivery service, with delivery made personally by Founder and CEO, Jay Bradley.

The Perfect Christmas Gift for Whiskey Fans

Our single malts offer the perfect Christmas gifting opportunity and have gained fans around the world for their exquisitely designed surrounds and complex, rich layers of flavour. Owning the rare single malts has previously been limited to private clients who have been able to visit our head office or speak with a Craft Specialist. Now whiskey fans will be able to view, buy and walk away with their whiskey, from The Craft Irish Whiskey Co.’s first ever store.

Award-winning Innovation

The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. has developed an innovative approach to the craft of maturation that draws on both science and the traditional art of whiskey-making to build flavour profiles that have taken the whiskey world by storm. We’ve also redesigned the entire whiskey experience, surrounding each single malt with a story and skilfully crafted accessories that deliver the ‘perfect whiskey experience’.

This approach and skilled knowledge of barrel craft have seen the inaugural release, The Devil’s Keep, awarded the world’s Best Irish Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2022, in addition to more than 20 further top awards. We’ve also been recognised for our design prowess; in 2021, The Brollach won a Master Medal for Design from The Spirits Business Awards and The Devil’s Keep became the first whiskey to win Gold at the prestigious A’Design Awards, while The Taoscán became the second in 2022. In the same year, The Emerald Isle won an exceptional Platinum A’Design Award with a perfect score, making it the #1 luxury design of the year.

The Whiskeys

While The Devil’s Keep sold out in record time in 2021, we recently released an extremely limited allocation reserved for Selfridges. Very few remain and this will be the last opportunity to purchase this ultra-rare single malt so buyers are advised to visit the store early in December to be in with a chance of securing one of the last bottles.

The latest ultra-rare single malt, The Aodh will also be available. This trailblazing whiskey is a collaboration with jeweller to the stars, MJ Jones, and features a bespoke ring – one of just 88 – in the obsidian closure of the whiskey. Presented in a bottle and stand that fuse traditional luxury craftsmanship with technological innovation, The Aodh is a never-to-be-repeated Irish whiskey of exceptional rarity. Ownership of The Aodh brings membership of The Craft Circle, an ultra-exclusive Private Members’ Club with a raft of bespoke benefits that have included a three-day yacht party, circuit-side, for the Monaco Grand Prix and a two-day golf tournament with world renowned Michelin-starred and celebrity chefs at the legendary Old Head Golf Links.

The Accessories: Available for the very first time

As well as the award-winning whiskeys, there will be a number of limited edition Christmas gifts available in Selfridges, including gift boxes, obsidian whiskey stones and cigar cutters. Our coveted glasses will also be available to purchase for the very first time. These scientifically designed glasses remove the ethanol vapours that would otherwise hinder the full appreciation of the whiskey’s flavour and have won acclaim for the elevated tasting experience they offer. The glasses are included in the ‘experience boxes’ of the ultra-rare single malts but have never previously been available for sale individually.

As well as picking up thoughtful and luxurious gifts for others, visitors to our store in Selfridges’ Wonder Room can look forward to experiencing the luxury of the single malts and the passion of The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. for themselves. Created by the designer responsible for every one of our award-winning designs, Tiago Russo, the store has been conceived with the same attention to detail that is poured into the products. Through its gallery-like design and the use of the same materials that can be found in the whiskey’s experience boxes, the store delivers the same immersive experience as the whiskeys. Whether seated at the elegant bar, chatting with the team or invited into the VIP tasting room, The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. will bring the immersive and considered beauty that define the designs of the award-winning products to Selfridges this December.

The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. will launch in Selfridges London’s Wonder Room on 5th December.

Just a day after announcing our launch in Selfridges and the media are already picking up on the story. This is the first time The Devil’s Keep has been made available for sale since its sell-out launch in December 2020 so it’s no surprise that it’s generating interest.

The Devil’s Keep is joined by The Taoscán and The Brollach in Selfridges London and online at Selfridges.com, but as Luxurious Magazine emphasises, we’ve only been able to make limited numbers available – there were originally only 12 of The Devil’s Keep, 10 remaining, and we expect the final 10 to disappear quickly once more media outlets pick up the story. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to buy a bottle of the ultra rare single malt that became the world’s Best Irish Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2022 and has won every top award for both taste and design. Collectors and connoisseurs can add two further award-winners to their collections with The Brollach and The Taosán which won Bronze and Silver respectively in the Best Irish Single Malt category, putting them just behind the overall winner, The Devil’s Keep. As Lux Review notes, these Single Malts are now available to drink by the glass in the best UK restaurants, including Restaurant Gordon Ramsey, The Waterside Inn and Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, so you can save your bottle but still get to taste the award-winning flavours.

Head to Selfridges.com or the London store now to buy your bottle of The Devil’s Keep, The Brollach and The Taoscán.

The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. is proud to announce its support of the Princess Grace Irish Library in Monaco. This support has allowed the library, which was inaugurated by Prince Rainier III in 1984, two years after the death of Princess Grace, to bring its collection online.

The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. has honoured the strong links between Monaco and Ireland by sponsoring the Princess Grace Irish Library. This sponsorship has allowed the library to bring their collection online, thereby making it accessible to people from across the world. We were honoured to receive the gratitude of the Trustees and the Director of the Library, as reported by Europe-Cities.

Monaco Tribune notes that the books made accessible by The Craft Irish Whiskey Co.’s sponsorship include those from Princess Grace’s personal collection. Of the 14,000 books in the library, more than 500 belonged to the Irish-born Princess, including rare editions such as A History of Ireland, signed by Éamon de Valera. Then President of Ireland, he offered these works to Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III in his Presidential Residence in 1961, during the State Trip.

The library also boasts a collection of more than 1,000 scores of Irish-American music, acquired by Princess Grace in 1977 from Philadelphia resident Michael E. O’Donnell. Covering the period between 1840 and 1940, the lyrics recall the life of Irish immigrants in the United States and each score is illustrated with an image which brings the era to life.

The library is also collaborating with the Atlantic Youth Trust, a new charity that aims to foster the development and cultural integration of young people through sailing in Ireland. The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. was able to celebrate this sponsorship with a charitable event in aid of Atlantic Youth Trust. This benefit dinner included a private tasting of our ultra-rare single malts with Albert II, Prince of Monaco

As our Managing Director, Ian Duignan, shared with Monaco Life “I’m honoured that The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. can support the work of the Princess Grace Irish Library in Monaco. We share a vision to respect and preserve the legacy of our forebears. Similar to the books lining the beautiful library walls, our ultra-rare premium whiskeys draw on Ireland’s illustrious past and traditions, while offering a unique experience as one of unrivalled luxury and perfection. In the same way that we bring an innovative approach to an age-old art, I’m proud that we can contribute to the library’s next step in the digital age.”

While The Devil’s Keep sold out in record time when we launched in December 2020, we’ve recently been able to make a limited run of bottles available to purchase only at Selfridges, at both its London store and online at Selfridges.com. The Devil’s Keep is joined by The Brollach and The Taoscán in our exclusive partnership with this famed retailer.

Shop Now

The Devil’s Keep

Whiskey collectors and connoisseurs who missed out when it was first released can now find the previously sold out and award-winning, The Devil’s Keep, at Selfridges. But there are just 12 bottles available in store and online, so yet again, you’ll need to be quick. The Devil’s Keep is an ultra-rare, triple distilled, 29.9-year-old single malt whiskey. Recently judged the world’s Best Irish Single Malt, this ultra premium whiskey is also available by the glass in select Michelin-starred and upscale venues, including Alain Roux’s The Waterside Inn, Jason Atherton’s City Social and Pollen St Social, and Frog by Adam Handling.

Within three months of its launch, The Devil’s Keep achieved the world record for the most expensive inaugural whiskey release ever at auction at USD $60,000 (almost £46,000 and €51,000). It was also judged to be the world’s ‘Best Irish Single Malt’ at the World Whiskies Awards 2022 and made history in 2021 as the only spirit to have won the highest Gold at the prestigious A’Design Awards. It was aged in 200 litre ‘first fill’ American Bourbon oak casks, then finished in rare French Oak barrels that had once held Tawny Port, before a final finish in Virgin Hungarian Oak, making it the finest whiskey that Ireland has ever created, and also a discerning and legacy investment. The Devil’s Keep’s experience box also reveals two expertly engineered Érimón glasses, scientifically designed to remove the ethanol vapours that burn the nose and hinder the appreciation of the whiskey. Semi-precious obsidian whiskey stones, a 24k karat gold water pipette and an atomizer containing the essence of the whiskey captured by expert perfumer, Sarah McCartney, complete the perfect whiskey experience designed by The Craft Irish Whiskey Co.

With rare bottles of whiskey maintaining their place as the best performing collectable of the past decade, increasing in value by 478% according to the Knight Frank Luxury Investment Index, The Devil’s Keep has proven popular with collectors and whiskey lovers alike.

The Brollach

It will be joined by The Brollach, with a limited number of bottles available in store and online. Launched in June 2021, it was our third release with a limited 661 bottles of ultra-rare, double-distilled, single malt whiskey, matured for two decades. It was aged in 200-litre American Bourbon casks, for a deep oaky flavour and then finished in 128-litre rare French Oak Madeira barrels. As with each of our ultra rare releases, the whiskey is tasted regularly rather than simply waiting for an age statement, allowing it to be bottled at its peak. Years of maturation imparted flavours of honeysuckle, butterscotch and caramel to create a whiskey that is unmistakably masculine and intimate, with a fresh and intense profile.

Inside The Brollach’s oak experience box lies two Finn glasses, the result of 18 months of research and testing to create a whiskey glass that would enhance the whiskey by removing the ethanol vapours. As part of the perfect whiskey experience, the Nordic Oak box contains a silver and glass pipette, four obsidian whiskey stones and a vial of The Brollach, allowing whiskey connoisseurs to taste the rare Irish craft whiskey without opening the bottle. In 2021, The Brollach won a top Master Medal at the Irish Whiskey Masters of The Spirits Business Awards, before then winning another coveted Master Medal in the Global Luxury Masters, which recognises and rewards exceptional luxury spirits from around the world.

A whiskey close to Founder Jay Bradley’s heart, it has been named after the O’Brollachans, the ancient rendering of the Bradley name, to represent their Irish heritage, lineage and craftsmanship.

The Taoscán Collector’s Edition

We’ve also made a limited number of The Taoscán Collector’s Edition available to Selfridges. For those who don’t want to break into their Collector’s Edition, The Taoscán is widely available to drink in Michelin-starred and other prestigious bars, hotels, golf clubs, and venues across the UK and Ireland. These include Restaurant Gordon Ramsey, The Waterside Inn, Le Manoir and Tom Kerridge’s The Hand & Flowers.

Our fourth release, The Taoscán was launched in October 2021 and is the world’s first and only Port and Chestnut finished whiskey. This triple distilled, ultra-rare single malt was awarded Gold at The A’Design Awards 2022 and Silver at the World Whiskies Awards 2022 for Best Irish Single Malt across all age categories. First distilled in 2006, The Taoscán takes its name from the original Gaelic word for a small measure of whiskey, the original term before the Scottish word ‘dram’ took over in popularity. It has been triple casked – first for 11-and-a-half-years in Bourbon casks, followed by a further one-and-a-half years in Oloroso Sherry casks, before being divided between a wide range of barrels, including Tawny Port and Chestnut Casks for two years. Regular tasting revealed that Port and Chestnut casks had reached perfection first but in an experimental moment, the two were blended together to create a groundbreaking new whiskey and a world first.

The use of Tawny Port and Chestnut Casks is the first time a whiskey has been aged in such a way. While Scotch whisky can only ever be matured in oak, Irish distillers can use any style of hardwood cask and have more freedom to experiment with the flavour imparted by these casks. Nevertheless, no other Irish company has attempted this style before. The result is a one-of-a-kind whiskey that is smooth and viscous, imparting banana and pecan scents on the nose, followed by rye spice on the mid palate, with a medium to long finish of toasted chestnuts. The Taoscán Collector’s Edition experience box features two Finn glasses, which are scientifically designed to enhance the whiskey’s flavours, along with the copper and glass pipette which delivers the optimum droplet of water to release the full complexity of its rich notes.

Jay Bradley, Founder of The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. comments: “For many years Scotland has dominated whiskey through the sheer breadth and depth of its offering. There has always been a gap in the market for ultra-luxury Irish whiskeys. Born from a conversation with my late father, The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. has a single mission: to create the finest whiskeys Ireland has ever made and to redefine global perceptions of luxury, while building a legacy.

“Less than two years since The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. introduced its first whiskey, as a business we have succeeded in taking Irish whiskey into a new top-shelf, ultra-luxury category. We’re delighted to be able to share a limited run of some of our rarest, award-winning bottles, from the original inaugural release. The range will be available exclusively at retailer Selfridges for whiskey lovers and connoisseurs to enjoy, amongst some of the top whiskey brands in the world.”

The Devil’s Keep, The Brollach and The Taoscán are available to purchase in store and online at Selfridges whilst stocks last. The Devil’s Keep will only be available through Selfridges, whilst the rest of the portfolio is also available at https://craftirishwhiskey.com or by speaking with a Craft Specialist. They’re also available by the glass in select venues across the UK and Ireland, including Alain Roux’s The Waterside Inn, Frog by Adam Handling and Jason Atherton’s City Social.

The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. was born from a desire to elevate Irish whiskey to its most luxurious, most exquisite peak. In realising its potential, we have crafted some of the most collectable, ultra-rare whiskeys in existence today.

In Michelin, we found a partner that shares this drive and the desire to craft perfection.
Our record-breaking second release, The Emerald Isle, has made waves across the world both for its rarity – the oldest and rarest triple distilled single malt in the world – and its artistry. Featuring the world’s first Celtic Egg from Fabergé, The Emerald Isle is a breathtaking example of the innovative and forward-thinking approach of The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. paired with Fabergé’s traditional craftsmanship and exquisite skill. Here we share with you a mesmerising behind-the-scenes glimpse of the journey from raw gold to finished Celtic Egg.

Each unique Celtic Egg has been skilfully and tenderly moulded from 18k yellow gold into the instantly recognisable Fabergé shape. The signature Guilloché enamelling honours Ireland with green, white and gold to symbolise the Irish flag, while a pavé diamond Celtic knot represents eternity in love and friendship. In a historic first for Fabergé, an uncut emerald lies within. Allowing the carefully curated, one-of-a-kind nature of The Emerald Isle to endure, the owner can commission Fabergé to work this into a bespoke piece of jewellery.

The video explores the intricate detailing and exceptional skill that has gone into each of the seven Celtic Eggs. From the gold sheets that are rolled on a lathe and encouraged into an egg shape with a handheld steel tool, to the engraving that takes half a day, the process takes years to master. Once each half cup is beautifully engraved with Fabergé’s signature symmetrical wave pattern, they’re ready for the famous vitreous enamelling.

Layers of enamel paste are applied using tiny brushes. Each layer takes one hour and the egg is then fired in a kiln at 800 degrees Celsius for approximately two minutes before being left to cool. The process then begins again. Throughout, the egg will be continually inspected for imperfections that can be removed and perfected before the next layer. A final hand-polishing and firing complete the enamelling process.

Once the egg itself is complete, the goldsmith can add their magic. The Celtic knot is carefully retouched, ensuring its curve gently follows the contour of the egg. Diamonds are delicately set in place before their surrounds are engraved with a scissel. The Zambian emerald that sits at the heart of the egg has its own unique gold claw fitting, designed to complement the natural shape of the emerald. The egg can finally be assembled, each of its exquisitely crafted components coming together in an expression of true artistry.

This masterful collection of handcrafted objets d’art and extraordinarily rare whiskey has elevated Irish whiskey as a collectible of the finest order. It is a celebration of tradition, heritage and exquisite artistry, combined with the dynamic reimagining of whiskey as an ultra-rare, luxury investment. In their dedication to crafting a lasting legacy, Fabergé and The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. have created a collection that will be remembered for centuries to come.
